Don't Go... I Can't Do This On My Own... *Niall Horan Fan Fic*

"Oh, Amelia! I need to see you after class today!" My art teacher, Mrs. Salley said shortly after my name was called on her roster. I nodded to her in response and continued to paint.

Today's choice colors were green, orange, and white. My all time favorite colors and, coincidentally, the three main colors to the country that I would be an exchange student to. In a few short weeks, I'd be on my way to Mullingar, Ireland, Europe, and hopefully I'd stay there forever.

I've always wanted to live somewhere other than the U.S.A., but only because here, I have to face an abusive step-mother, a father that's never home, and peers that constantly pick on me because of how different I am.

While I was painting, I had one thought, leaving this dreadful place. But as I progressed with my art, more thoughts began flowing through my head. Every thought I had was transferred to my canvas in some way. So, instead of my original idea to "paint-the-Irish-flag-like-a-normal-person", it became more and more abstract with each thought.

Maybe I am a little underweight. I thought.  Maybe I do listen to weird music, but it's just music-it makes me happy. So what if I have scars that are too many to count? I'm human, though. My hair may be oddly colored from time to time, but beneath my scars, the hair dye, and my faux persona, I'm just Amelia Smith. A shy girl in her senior year that's too afraid to show her real self.

My real self... I think even I have grown too distant from that girl I used to know and hate...

*RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING*

The abrupt sound of the bell triggered me to snap back into reality and notice what I had painted.

I looked at my canvas and saw what I thought to have been an Irish flag in the background, with what resembled a childish outline of a person. Surrounding the main focus were some of the many words people described me with... "Weird. Ugly. Dumb. Emo." Inside the outline of the person, I had unmistakably written my name- clear as day in bright purple acrylic "Amelia Marie Smith."

As I finished looking at my art, I remembered that Mrs. Salley needed to speak to me. I gathered my things, put my wet canvas on the drying rack, and approached her desk.

"Mrs. Salley, you wanted to speak to me?" I said, a mixture of nervousness and confusion being very noticeable in my voice.

"Ah, yes. Amelia, your artwork... They've got this crazy, wicked, disturbed, sort of aura." She began. "Now, don't get me wrong, they're all beautiful, just in this weird, abstract way. You're really good."

I stared at her in awe. "Wow.. Thank you, Mrs. Salley. I really appreciate it..."

"You're welcome, Amelia. Now get to class, unless you want to keep painting today for your upcoming exchange to Ireland." She gave me a sly grin and stared at me until I nodded ferociously. Being that I knew that she wouldn't have another class for the rest of the day, I said yes. Only one thing was racing through my mind...

"Can I play my music through your sound system? It helps me paint." I blurted out, "I mean... It's not all bad... You can choose what we listen to, just to be safe." She began to nod and I held my iPod out for her to take.

Mrs. Salley turned to face the black box that was hinged to the wall. Every teacher in the school had one of them, each box contained all the electronics for our classrooms- DVD/Video Player, audio controls, and microphones for the more quiet teachers.  

She took my headphones from my iPod and plugged in her converter cable. Within seconds, music was playing through her speakers. Coincidentally, she had chosen my favorite song out of them all... 

"Hmm... One Direction?" She said as she tapped my iPod's scratched screen.

I began to blush. "Uh... Whatever..." I didn't really want anyone to know that I enjoyed listening to them, but if it was Mrs. Salley, it was okay. The next thing I heard was the soothing sound of an acoustic guitar and them singing. I never really felt the need to remember their names.

Hey guys!
Im obviously posting, but what isn't obvious is that I'm on my iPad. Honestly, it's hard to use xD

So, I'm going to be away for a couple days, so I probably won't have time to post. I may just have enough time to check on everything and ensure that all is well :3 Sorry for the short-notice. Hopefully Alyssa or Haily will fill in for my absence!

I know, I know. I never post. I'm really sorry for that, but I'm only human! Plus, it seems as though Alyssa's been taking good care of you guys and the blog :P But anyways! Onto why I decided to write! XD

As you know, today's CHRISTMAS EVE! However, as Alyssa has already pointed out, IT'S LOUIS' BIRTHMAS!! :D
If you don't know what a birthmas is, you obviously haven't seen that episode of Family Guy. It's the combination of a persons birthday and Christmas! Which for Louis, those two dates go hand in hand :)
